Macroeconomics
Macroeconomics studies the economy as a whole, focusing on growth, inflation, unemployment, interest rates, fiscal and monetary policy, and how shocks affect aggregate outcomes, economic stability, and long-run prosperity. My research focuses on economic growth and on how cyclical shocks shape the economy’s longer-run prospects.

Firm Dynamics
Firm dynamics studies how firms enter, grow, innovate, compete, shrink, and exit over time, shaping productivity, employment, market structure, resource allocation, and aggregate economic growth. My research examines how firms adjust their decisions in response to shocks and policies, and how these adjustments reshape the broader macroeconomic environment.

Fiscal Policy
Fiscal policy studies how governments use taxation, spending, borrowing, and transfers to influence economic activity, redistribute resources, provide public goods, stabilize business cycles, and support sustainable growth. My research examines how fiscal policy, through government procurement contracts, shapes firm behavior and how these firm-level responses affect market structure, long-term growth and economic stability.

Labor Economics
Labor economics studies how workers, firms, and institutions interact in labor markets, shaping employment, wages, inequality, skills, productivity, working conditions, and the effects of policies on economic opportunities. My research investigates how macroeconomic conditions and public policies affect the matching process between employers and workers and the outcomes of those matches.
